Valedictory Function of Vigilance Awareness Week–2025 concludes at RINL Sri Srinivas Muppala, IRSME, Zonal Development Commissioner, VSEZ, lauds RINL’s transparency systems and corporate ethical practicesThe Valedictory Function of Vigilance Awareness Week–2025 was held today at Dr.Tenneti Viswanadham Auditorium, RINL–Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. The event marked the conclusion of a week-long series of awareness programmes promoting integrity, transparency, and accountability across the organization. Initially Messages from the Hon’ble President of India, Vice-President, Prime Minister, Minister of Heavy Industries & Steel and the Central Vigilance Commissioner were read out during the ceremony. Sri Srinivas Muppala, IRSME, Zonal Development Commissioner, Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. In his address, he commended RINL’s Vigilance Department for strengthening systems and procedures that promote greater transparency and ethical corporate governance. He highlighted that Vigilance Awareness Week, observed annually across India during the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, is a national call to action against corruption. He stressed that corruption in all its forms weakens society and that true vigilance goes beyond suspicion or punishment—it is about awareness, prevention, and ethical conduct. Referring to this year’s theme, “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility,” he emphasized that combating corruption is a collective duty involving government institutions, public sector organizations, civil society, and citizens. He also underlined the role of technology—such as e-procurement, e-tendering, online audits, and grievance redressal systems—in building transparency, while noting that institutional integrity and personal ethics are the real drivers of transformation. Sri Srinivas Muppala lauded Dr. S. Karuna Raju, IAS, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), RINL, and his team for implementing significant reforms that reflect RINL’s commitment to clean and transparent governance.
