RINL-Vizag Steel Plant today joined the Nation in celebrating the 76th Independence Day with patriotic fervor and gaiety in Ukkunagaram. Highlighting RINL’s commitment to Atma Nirbhar Bharat, Sri Atul Bhatt said that RINL continuous follow-up with the consortium partners led to the stabilization of production of forged wheels at Forged Wheel Plant at Rae Bareli and said that it gives him happiness to announce that, the hot trials for production of LHB wheels has successfully completed and waiting for RDSO clearance to commence regular production from this month itself. RINL, started the new FY22 with the challenge of coal crisis and restriction in production that are continuing from the end of Jan’22. Optimization of various processes, better operating practices and use of reclaimed coal from inaccessible areas etc., were implemented to mitigate the above coal crisis. As the coking coal stocks were depleting, RINL adopted the optimum production model by operating 2 BFs (Blast Furnaces).

An MoU was signed between STPI, STPINEXT and RINL-VSP (Visakhapatnam Steel Plant) for Industry 4.0 COE (Kalpataru) for promotion of Innovation & Startup activities for RINL and other industries in and around Visakhapatnam. At a function held at Visakhapatnam Steel plant today, the MoU was exchanged between Sri Atul Bhatt, CMD, RINL & Dr .CVD Ram Prasad, Director, STPI. Speaking on the occasion, Sri Atul Bhatt, CMD, RINL who is the chief Mentor behind the CoE, said that the setting up of the Centre of Excellence (CoE) is the need of the hour and it will become an example of industry & academia interface where everyone will come out with a solution which will benefit the country and will usher in a Nationwide movement in digitalisation in steel industry. India is now becoming the epicentre of steel making in the World and India stands as the second largest steel producer in the world and I hope that Vizag will become the hub of providing solutions in steel making to the country”, Sri Atul Bhatt added. The centre for Excellence will go a long way in supporting the “Atma Nirbhar Bharat” of Govt. of India and in incubating start-ups from ideation to product development in Industry 4.0 The CoE is coming up over a built up space of approximately 6000 square feet at Ukkunagaram. The CoE has been named ‘Kalpataru’. It will house an Industrial Robotics lab, an Industrial Drones lab and an Industrial IOT (Internet of Things) lab. The Centre will also be provided with high speed internet and server setup using cloud computing to have capabilities for working with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).

As part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, in tune with the WHO – World No Tobacco Day Campaign, Visakha Steel General Hospital (VSGH) of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant in collaboration with Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (HBCH&RC) Visakhapatnam conducted an awareness program on the HAZARDS OF TOBACCO USAGE, with the aim of sensitizing the people towards hazards of tobacco use and to promote a tobacco free society, at MP Hall – Ukku Club, today. Sri Atul Bhatt, CMD, RINL, the Chief Guest inaugurated the awareness programme in the august presence of Dr. Umesh Mahantshetty , DIRECTOR (HBCH&RC), Directors of RINL, CVO, Dr. Prakash and Dr.Dolorosa Fernandez , Assistant Professor , Department of Preventive Oncology(HBCH&RC), the guest speaker at the awareness program. Speaking on the occasion, Sri Atul Bhatt, CMD, RINL emphasized the need to take Anti-tobacco programs forward vigorously, for prevention of Tobacco induced diseases, among the employees and their families by conducting more awareness camps and screening programs. RINL launched a tableau today kick starting celebrations under the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ Iconic Week being observed by Ministry of Steel starting from 4th to 10th July, 2022. Sri Atul Bhatt, CMD, RINL flagged off a tableau decorated with banners and posters showcasing various achievements and contribution of RINL in Nation building, steel usage, Atmanirbhar Bharat, Make in India and various RINL steel products and their usages. The tableau will move across the city and peripheral areas to raise awareness about ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and steel usage at large. The tableau also consists of photos and details of prestigious national projects where RINL Products are used.
